The next annual Anatomical Society of Southern African (ASSA) conference will take place in 2026 from the 12th-15th of April. 

This event will be hosted by UNAM in Swakopmund Namibia.

The Anatomical Society of Southern Africa (ASSA) warmly invites you to join us for our 51st Annual Conference!

This year, we'll meet in the beautiful coastal setting of Swakopmund, Namibia, from 12 – 15 April, 2026, at the Swakopmund Plaza Hotel.

Our central theme is - Anatomy for All – will focus on ways to bring anatomical knowledge to a wider audience. "Anatomy for All" shifts this focus to active learning and ethical engagement. We encourage participation from every field, including: clinical anatomy, cell biology, histology, neurosciences, developmental biology, oro-facial biology, physical anthropology, palaeoanthropology, and veterinary sciences.

Beyond the engaging scientific programme, we envision this conference as a prime opportunity to connect socially and network with peers from around the world, all set against the backdrop where the Swakop River meets the Atlantic Ocean.
